Good Morning GC'rs
Goodness pamsdish - how scary! But yay for children doing the right thing!
Tofu buddha bowl for tea tonight . I will be using ordinary tofu - rather than the smoked, as I hadn't taken into account that the non-smoked needs to be used first. It's no biggie, but I will have to factor in pressing and then time for marinading.
Gonna try to stay out of the shops, so hoping for a NSD.
Greying XPounds for Panes £7,005/£10,000 - start date Dec 2023
Grocery Spend July 2025 £208.74/£300
Non-food spend July 2025 £96.71/£50
Bulk Fund July 2025 £9.10/£103 -
I can't remember when I last updated but the new month starts today for me. Declaring at £206.18/£230.
It's only under because we've been too lazy to do a food shop yet this week and I haven't had to order cat food. Probably means next month will be tight!
Going to do a meal plan and go shopping this evening.6 -
Mr M spend this morning £2.26. Calling it at £166.91 as I'm getting paid on Friday. £26.91 over budget, goodness.4

Had to go for a haircut, after double locking the front door !!, called in A1D1 as needed courgettes and tomatoes for today's meal, was going to adapt but as nearby £2.69Do I need it or just want it.3

It won't be a NS for me today as the small one has a jubilee party to attend on Thursday so we are making a donation of something cake related from Mr A - the small one wants jam tarts - usually I would bake them but with the cost of using my oven I actually think its cheaper to buy them and will save me some time.
I'm slightly concerned over the annoucement of the rail strikes as we are taking our little holiday next week - we can't afford to go away in the summer so usually do a little stay in a caravan near a beach in the May half term. However as a non driver its public transport all the way - fingers crossed we get there and back!

@Greying_Pilgrim If you need some inspiration on what to do with the blueberries I made these lemon and blueberry muffins recently and they went down very well and you use oil rather than butter which is a bit thriftier especially if like me you use cheapo veg oil4

Forgot to put that OH went out for bread yesterday. Why he couldn't have got it when he went for milk I've no idea, sigh. While he was shopping he was on the phone to me talking about going to the vietnamese place tomorrow (now today) while he was out. I put my foot down as he spends £12.40 there every time on himself alone getting a main meal with a side of spring rolls and usually another £4.50 on their tofu summer rolls for me (a total cost of £16.90.) While I can't argue that the food is good we can't justify it this month as the budget is already vastly over as it is.
£13.62 was spent in Mr S as a result of going out for bread!
OH got a large cheese and tomato pizza and bought extras to go on top. Half did him yesterdays dinner and he has taken the other half out with him today.
I can't put all the blame on the OH on yesterdays spend though. He said about some reduced fruits and vegetables and they went in too for me.
At least I can say it will last a while.
£241.33/£170.50.
£70.83 over.
It is clear to me that our budget has to increase next month. Basically everything has gone up in price and the reductions just aren't as good as they used to be either in general so that is impacting what we spend quite a lot.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy4 -

Another small spend today as needed some courgettes and olives for the pasta bake I'm making tonight but paid for with my Morrisons Gift card so nothing from the GC budget.

Well I know we went over in May but not grumbling about it too much. It wasn’t by just a tenner either but instead was probably about £40 however with newly found food intolerances and buying for the freezer I think this played a big part.I’ve decided to increase Junes budget as tins, spices, generally staple items are really really low having not done a big top up recently so allocating more for that. For example last week I had 3 tins in other than the vast quantity of tuna I bulk bought a few months back. Needs must.@Gr@Greying_Pilgrim thank you for the idea about the orange sponge, I’m going to do the same to use up 1 organic orange this afternoon as some time with my LG.I also have a question that’s been in my mind since last month to ask of others but will save that for Junes challengeFollow here for the daily life of an ADHD mum with 2 children and a new mortgage to pay
