Hi All, I know that if I continue working after State Pension Age that I no longer have to pay NI on my salary, but is there any extra tax to pay, or does the 'normal' NI deduction just get added to my take home pay? I think I know the answer, but wanted to check. TIA.

You stop paying NI at state pension age. It's not clear whether the 1.25 % for the NHS will apply to state pensioners. Nothing is added to take home pay as such - Just one less deduction.

Tax is assessed on income before NI deductions, so NI deductions make no difference to tax.PeterLH said:Hi All, I know that if I continue working after State Pension Age that I no longer have to pay NI on my salary, but is there any extra tax to pay, or does the 'normal' NI deduction just get added to my take home pay?
