For some reason they are using 13.50% and 3.5% instead of 13.25% and 3.25% for NI otherwise looks near enough correct.
Cannot quite agree the figure for NI even allowing for showing the wrong rates; HMRC NI calculator gives £554.64
Are the NHS paying extra NI to help fund the NHS?
From....
https://www.nhspay.co.uk/National-Insurance.php
"From 1st April 2022 all National Insurance contributions will increase by 1.5%- If you earn less than £9,880 a year or £823 a month you will pay 0% national insurance. This means non of your pay will be used (or taken away) to pay National Insurance;
- If you earn between £823.01 and £4,189 a month, or between £9,880 and £50,270.01 a year you will pay 13.5% on earnings between these figures;
- If you earn over £4,189 a month or £50,270 a year you will pay 3.5% on all earnings over these amounts and 13.5% on earnings between £823.01 and £4,189 a month or £9,880 and £50,270 a year. The cost of the 13.5% being £454.41 a month or £5,452.65 year."

But it just seems net pay is a little low for 90k gross annual wage? Or is that the challenge with NI increaseschrisbur said:For some reason they are using 13.50% and 3.5% instead of 13.25% and 3.25% for NI otherwise looks near enough correct.

If you have been offered a job on that pay scale, this specific calculator is probably better than any generic calculator. Have you taken account the pension contributions if using any alternative calculator as comparison?sultan123 said:https://www.nhspay.co.uk/NHS-Band-8D-Pay.php

This is actually for a friend who I am helping out as he used generic calculator but I found this specific webpage.
Never knew NI contributions were more in NHS?!0 -
Well, generic salary calculator is just over £5k.
NHS calculator is £4,385 but that is after £1k pension deduction.
NHS pension is one of the best and, I think, final salary, so worth more than £1k into a private pension.0 -
To the best of my knowledge they are not, I think this is just a bit of a !!!!!!-up.sultan123 said:Grumpy_chap said:
