Cancel high interest cards?

Hello, looking for advice whether to close unused high interest credit accounts.

I have just opened a new capital one card with a limit of £5000, balance transfer for 15 months, and will keep my current sainsburys card on 0% for next 12 months.

This leaves me with a lot of empty credit cards and a high credit limit, should I close some? Note I have added the current balances but the only balances to remain will be sainsburys and I will transfer everything else to the new capital one card, and pay off the halifax with my salary this month and next month:

Aqua opened June 17 limit £5900 bal £0

Sainsburys open June 21 limit £3000 bal £2600

Vanquis open feb 15 limit £2500 bal £0

Halifax opened July 19 limit £1700 bal £790

Tesco opened march 17 limit £1450 bal £1300

Barclaycard opened may 18 limit £3100 bal £0

Lloyds opened July 19 limit £2100 bal £1450

MBNA opened oct 19 limit £1900 bal £1600

Creation finance - shows up as a credit card (limit shows £4000, bought a £500 laptop on monthly instalments and paid off) open since march 21, balance £0. Maybe I keep this open as good to have a different kind of credit?

Aqua, Vanquis and Barclays all high interest 30+% (no balance on any of them)

Sainsburys 0% for another 12 months

All other lenders roughly 24% APR

Annoyingly the oldest accounts are the ones with the worst interest

Is there a recommended credit limit to salary ratio? Salary is 37k currently

(Plan is to buy a house in a year so want to get accounts in order now in terms of opening, closing, balance transferring etc, pay as much down as possible and give credit reports time to settle)

With that number of cards it won't make a lot of difference to anything whether you cancel or not.

However it's just possible that you might get an existing customer offer of 0% on the open zero balance cards.

As I remember, Barclaycard are more likely to do this than Aqua and Vanquis so if you wanted to cancel a couple I'd cancel those.

I'll see if I can find a link to an old thread with some info on that.
