Hi i have seen this thread before but they all seem to take the route of silly money,
I would like a coffee machine that makes half decent coffee, not bothered if its a pod capsule bag style as its for on a morning, i have about 10 mins to make and drink the cup before i leave at 5.30 am, so it has to be quick easy and cheapish,
Dont really want to go over about 60 quid what do people think??

Here's two suggestions for you.
If you want to go for a filter-coffee 'machine' - then buy one with an insulated jug that you can turn off. The coffee keeps hot and fresh without 'stewing' like the ones that stay switched on do. On the other hand, you could buy a cheapo filter coffee make (Curry's do them for £5!) and tranfer the coffee itself to a pre-warmed thermos/insulated jug or flask.
Also - if time's tight in the morning (and min IS!) - you can set up your coffee maker on a timer plug so it's ready when you get to the kitchen in the morning. And you wake up with that wonderful coffee smell!
My second solution is to use a cafetaire (spelling??). Dead quick and great for a couple of large, quick cups. Cheap, too - you don't need a fancy chrome one for day-to-day caffeine injections.
Hope that helps!0 -
We have had a Phillps Senseo machine for a couple of years, very pleased with the results, Comet got it on offer for £29.99 at the moment.

Get yourself a cafetiere and a small grinder.
Get a good quality coffee bean and grind your own. You can do a job lot and leave it in the fridge it keeps pretty fresh
Also get a nice big insulated mug and you can drink your coffee on the go.
Cheaper than any coffee machine0 -
I have been through a fair few coffee machines and personally the only one I would reccomend is Melitta. My son brought it over from Denmark for me. I have to leave for work at 5am. I come down put the coffee maker on, jump in the shower and put what I don't drink into a flask to take to work for my break. If I am at home I make a jugful and it stays hot all day, if it lasts that long.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:
