Instagram comps

Hiya, firstly thankyou to everyone for the comps I'm new to comping (1 week) I'm not very technical but getting by! I've seen alot of the competitions and wins are on instagram, I also read a post somewhere saying set up an insta page for comps, I've done this but all the comps I've looked at so far require tagging. None of my friends would want to be spammed with comp tags and I don't have a personal insta anyway. So my question is.... is there any comps that are just comments or follows or are they all tags? Are there people who swap for comping tags? I know it's not allowed on here, just wondered if it's a thing or if I'm wasting my time with insta?
Please be kind to a newbie and thanks in advance for any replies.

Welcome!

Recently we had a thread removed where everybody was sharing their insta tags - you're not allowed to self promote on MSE (including insta) though which is why it got removed. There are other comping websites where this is allowed though - Competition Database is one that I'm aware of.  

There are a couple of comps that don't require tags, I would say they're in the minority of all insta comps though.

Also with your insta profile, I would recommend making it look like a personal one or at least putting a few pictures on there so it doesn't look like it's exclusively used for comps. 

Insta is the luck of the draw and largely based on how much time you put into it - I'm quite lucky on there but others have said they struggle to get wins on there.

There is also a page on FB that’s for travel comps but the admins have started a thread where people who don’t mind being tagged can add themselves. Not sure if I’m allowed to share the groups name here 👀

How do we start our own thread on here now? I can't seem to see a button to do it.

Regarding Instagram competitions, did anyone enter the John Pye Auction one for the PS5 by any chance? It ended on 30th April and I've noticed no winner was announced and the post has disappeared.

@Snizza In the top left, there should be a create a post. 
Select that red button when you are in the category you are wanting to post in.

I'm not sure, I may have done, I am following them. But it definitely isn't there anymore, as the link is still on their website for it, but it leads to a page not found. They do have an online chat on the website by the looks of it, so you could see what they say there.

Hi thanks. I see it now!

I remain suspect about the competition, I asked them why it was taken down and nobody announced and they said they would announce someone the following day, which they did on their stories. Why pull down the original post though when they hadn't done that with previous competitions they posted?
