What are “final checks” on mortgage application?

Hi,
I was just wondering what the final checks are of a mortgage application? Our broker says that all our documents have been signed off by the underwriter and application has now been sent for final checks?

@jojodam27 Very generally speaking, it just refers to final internal lender processes before the mortgage offer is issued. Tbh I don't really know what exactly it involves (each lender will have their own processes) but in the vast majority of cases it just goes on to offer without any further queries.
