Hi
I'm looking to remortgage my residential 18 year long interest only mortgage. if i remortgage the property as a buy to let, can I recliam all the tax paid at source previously paid over 18 years previous interest payments.

The status of the mortgage has nothing to do with your ability to offset the interest only payment against rental income.
What you propose would be mortgage fraud and tax fraud if you dont actually have a property you rent out.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
