Help! Mortgage declined after two late payments on buy to let

Can anyone help? I have had many mortgages in the past and always paid on time. My credit record has always been excellent. I have been going though a messy divorce. We agreed to sell our jointly owned buy to let. Sale was meant to complete before Christmas 21. I was pressured into ensuring the tenants vacated which I did. The buyer then delayed each week until 28th Feb. I had no real means of covering the mortgage and understanding it would be paid in full any day soon did not think it was a big deal.
I now have a court order to get my ex off the mortgage by a date in May and accepted an offer on my house and even found a smaller property I love BUT despite getting a DIP got declined by my current provider. Upon inspection of my credit report this is due to the two late payments on the buy to let.

It’s so frustrating! I had no idea of the long lasting impact. Had I known I would have just paid the mortgage!! My own mortgage has never been late.
I really need to sell my current home and buy a new one to meet my commitments via the court order. Has anyone experienced similar and can anyone offer any advice?
I’ve talked to both Experian and HSBC who are investigating on compassionate grounds but don’t hold out much hope.

If events weren't accurately reported then credit reports would be worthless to users. There'll be options for you in the wider mortgage market.1

Do you have any specific lenders / brokers who can help? Thanks0

@mrs_n_t I'm sorry to hear about your DIP decline. Unfortunately, arrears on secured loans are the most serious form of arrears as far as mortgages are concerned. The recency of the arrears makes it worse.
I would recommend getting in touch with a good whole of market broker who can look at the whole picture and give you a realistic idea of your options at this point. There are heavy-adverse lenders who will have expensive options but there might also be smaller building societies who don't credit score and may take a view given the scenario and the fact that this is the only blemish on your report.
The MSE guide here https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/mortgages/best-mortgages-cashback/ lists a few brokers you could contact. I would not expect L&C/Habito to be of much help but the ones further down the list like John Charcol might.
