    Unnecessary

What is? A plant-based diet? Probably but it's a choice, not one I have chosen but each to their own.  No-one is right!

Or Poppy's opinion?  As above... your comment is very passive aggressive and so unnecessary. You're not adding to the discussion.

Of course what?  Expansion would be more helpful.

I was replying to Poppy but her second post intervened.  Of course she is entitled to her opinion.  I wouldn't suggest otherwise.  But I am sure  no-one needs reminding that people are struggling
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

One word isn't a reply,  it's an aimless comment. And you're right, no one needs reminding that some people are struggling, that doesn't negate anyones right to comment. Poppy is one who is struggling with many aspects of her life, her opinion is as valid as yours, but you have criticised her in a very off hand manner.
    Board guidelines say 'be kind'.

There's a group on Facebook called Nicki's Vegan Weight Loss Cafe which focusses on WFPB recipes, no oil or sugar.  The idea is you eat lots of low calorie vegetables with protein (chickpeas, lentils, beans, tofu, seitan) and a small amount of complex carbs.  There are loads of recipes in the files of the group once you join.  One thing I would say is that breakfast recipes often include protein powders to fill you up and increase your protein intake and they can be quite expensive.

I dont eat meat. I tried something like this a few years ago and it was very difficult for me. However I did feel fit and healthy and more energetic.
I gradually gave it up as I got bored with the limitations. I got fed up of ratatouille with chickpeas and mixed bean chilli.

Good luck with it, it's never been easier to be vegan than now if that's your starting point.

The China Study has been critiqued by a former raw vegan who is a statistics nerd, Denise Minger.  Have a look at her blog to help you balance the claims.  I’m not saying there is nothing in it by any means but it is, to say the least, a bit more nuanced than the headlines might suggest
I've had the change to glance at this, although not read it in depth yet, but it looks interesting.  Thanks very much.  Its always good to see everything properly balanced, isn't it?
