OS Daily Monday 11th April

Morning all

Looks to be a nice day and not quite as cold so hopefully a nice day in store. Off to work for me and I have to say I am dreading it before I left on Thursday I had a really quite nasty and abrupt email from my boss telling me that because I could not work a Friday she had asked me to that i would need to work easter monday, I have done 5 fridays for her recently even though I work Mon - Thurs and there was one I couldnt do so she has got quite nasty over it all, I replied back very politely saying I was unable to work easter monday as she has already told me that I was off and I had things planned, I can see there being an almighty row today, but I really dont think I have done anything wrong so we will see !

Dinner tonight will be a chicken that I need to roast when I get in from work with a jacket potato and some salad I can just shove the chicken and jackets in when I get home so not too much effort.

DW has been emptied this morning and I will see if there is enough washing to put a load on.

DH and DS1 up and gone to work.  I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here.  DS2 settled and happy.

Light and cool and bright start to the day.

Dinner last night was chicken in a bun for the menfolk.  Tonight I'm not sure but will find something.

Wash load ready to go out on the line.  Another load ready to go in WM.  Hopefully I'll be able to get that load line dried also.

Morning folks and thanks RUBY.  I really hope today isn't as bad as you are fearing.  

It's a lovely start here too but I put the heating on for a quick blast when I first got up as it felt chilly when I came downstairs. The washing machine is on and hopefully will get hung outside. There is rain forecast for later but it should dry before that arrives. Before the fuel crisis I had the machine on far more than I now do. These days I hang on until there is quite a full load. 

I feel as though I am starting with a cold this morning and I have my fingers crossed that it is just a cold and nothing more! I will do a LFT just in case I think. BELLA I hope your DH isn't too poorly with his.

Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for all our poorlies, poorly loved ones and convalescing. POPPY I hope you feel a bit better today. NELS I hope DM goes on ok in her temporary home. NRA thinking of you. Take care one and all and be safe xx

Morning from Kingshouse on the West Highland Way. We are two days into our current walk having finished the Great Glen Way on Friday (79 miles). 

Unfortunately my knee is giving me some pain so I have a support that I bought in Fort William. Yesterday we only walked part of the way and caught the bus the final couple of miles. Today we have 14 miles to Bridge of Orchy. 

Ruby - glad you made it through the funeral. I can concur it’s the most awful awful situation to go through. I send my love to you and your family. Oh and tell your boss to poke it - can’t be messing you around like that especially this close to Easter weekend.

Morning everyone stick to your guns RR it’s the same every where you work the ones that help out they end up expecting them to say yes to everything and them that don’t never get asked because they know they just won’t so nothing is said.I worked at the coop for 4 year’s although it wasn’t my shift I ended up working every weekend and every Boxing Day as you were supposed to take turns I never was late worked all the overtime they asked swapped shifts for people and the day they closed it down my sister died through the night and I didn’t do my last 3 hour shift which was of course the late shift just me and another mug but they took the money for that shift of me there was no thanks or anything we were all just gone . Cool but dull today and Gers my gilet came yesterday couldn’t believe how quickly that was I only ordered it the day before they are lovely I also got a half zip fleece I wish I had got another one it’s lovely and warm although I must say some of the ones I have I have had a long time and they are quite thin .I am looking after 3 of the grandchildren today before I go to work I will probably be glad to get there for a rest thinking of all the poorlies and those looking after poorly family hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Morning folks, thanks for starting us off Ruby. What a rude and nasty boss, doesn't make you feel valued or respected. I hope that your new job kicks in soon. 

Yesterday morning was lovely though cold. I did a small mixed abs quick wash which soon dried outside. Then I planted up strawberry seeds into wee buckets, I'd bought a couple of the sets ages ago which were just cluttering up the small barn. All the kitchen rolls are now neatly stashed and the barn looking a bit neater. Just before the day turned less lovely I scrunched up lots of banking papers which I'd scanned and burnt them in the garden. That was my day, not exactly slothful but nowhere near busy either. 😀
The husband of the stubborn friend with the very hip phoned me to say thanks for talking to her, she's now showing encouraging signs of interest in having the op. My fingers are still crossed. 

YorksLass- you're coping well with your DH, I hope his injury is healing. 

Florence - your chicks are lovely, they made me smile. Wouldn't take much to turn them into egg covers. My late DM had a few which she knitted as a child, little hats to keep boiled eggs warm. 😀
TA - did you finish that book?
Bella - what a pain for your DH, is he feeling OK?
Nelski - lovely to hear that your DM has settled into her temporary place, a bit of relief for you. 

Poppy - hope you got a good rest yesterday. 

I have no idea what today will bring, I will relax into it. The day isn't looking bright at all, thick white cloud covering the whole sky so no frosty start but no sun either.

Good morning, another bright start here.

Thanks for starting Ruby, your boss seems to be a nasty piece of work, it's awful when you are dreading going to work. Hope you'll be ok.

Florence, your Easter chicks are lovely! So cute.

Coxy, sorry to hear your knee is playing up., hope it doesn't spoil your holiday.  Your walk sounds so lovely as well. Scotland is beautiful, we have had such lovely holidays in various areas of Scotland.

Snoozer, hope Crystal and Laura  are all right.

We went over to the caravan yesterday to start tidying, and getting it ready for the summer, we've booked it in for a wash as well. The storage place where we keep it cleans caravans and it 's so much easier for us if they do it, costs £25 but worth every penny.

After lunch we went to Bea*ish Museum, there was a steam powered vehicle event, and it was busy. We had a good walk round, it's a great place, and only 10 minutes in the car for us.

Today it's just what my DD calls "stuff", so after visiting a friend this morning I'll do "stuff".

Thinking of Poppy, NRA, Nels and her Mum, Bella's DH who has covid, and anyone else who is ill or struggling with life.

That's awful Ruby, I think your boss is trying to get as much out of you as she can before you go! Stick to your guns, it's the only way with a boss like that.

I had a really down day yesterday, felt sure I would have a negative test but it was still positive. Decided I would slob about in PJs all day and feel sorry for myself! Anyway, negative this morning so that's a start. Hope those suffering with this bloomin virus aren't too bad. 

Hope your OH is in less pain this morning Yorklass and you can get some rest.
Fantastic achievement Coxy, look after that knee.
Hope your cold doesn't come to much TA.
Good news re your DM Nelski.

I've one wash load already on the line, some throws from the living room will finish soon so I'll put them out too, forecast says it's to be dry but it's not looking too promising at the moment.

Morning all, certainly a lot warmer this morning ,not as sunny though.

RR what a rude woman! Hope it's ok at work though.

Not a lot to report really, watched DGDs football yesterday morning, bit of a drive to Bury but pleasant watching in the sun. They came back here after for a bit so she could print a story off.

 Tea was some beef I'd previously cooked in my new sc and frozen, it's obviously hotter than my old one, it was more like pulled beef Then I had taken a mincemeat plate tart out too, made from leftovers at Xmas, so got a bit of space in the freezer now- not much I grant you

No plans for today, will go for a longer walk later. DSisIL gave me her old fit tracker watch when we visited on Friday, only trouble is, it's a bit hard to read which is why she bought a different one No instructions either but I can fathom the number of steps done if I squint!

No idea on tea yet, it'll have to be another freezer dive, although I shall probably make some more ketofriendly Scotch eggs, handy for lunches.

Morning everyone
Didn't get round to posting over the weekend but had a catch up last night - had little one quite a bit over the weekend - she was in fine fettle and no bother at all .About a month ago DD told her work she couldn't work next weekend as I was away - but the person she arranged it with hadn't put it on the system and has now left. So she ended up working more this weekend instead. Little one can't stay with anyone other than me as I have oxygen here for nap time and can put water into her tube every couple of hours. She does sometimes stay with my mam for a little while if DD just goes shopping or something....just for an hour or so.
We spent lots of time making Easter cards and playing in the garden.
Day to myself today and I have a list ...washing, bathrooms, hoovering etc - will pace myself and shouldn't take long - I want to be tidy before I go away on Thursday.
I sent eldest DD a list of places I'd like to visit in Berlin - which she has transformed into a great itinerary. We'll go to a different area by Metro each day, so I don't have to walk too far - with plenty of sitting-down breaks, hopefully in the sunshine, I should be ok. I think the change might help me. The steroids are helping a little but today's my last day...I'll message the doctors on Wednesday to see if I can get more - the helpful doctor isn't in until then.
Well I'd better get on with this 'stuff' - hope everyone has a good day.
