solar PV and battery quote struggles

Hello im looking in to getting solar PV and potentially battery storage but due to 'increased demand' im really struggling to get quotes back. We are high electric users with a air source heat pump who live in a rural location (no gas) out side of Portsmouth.

iv had one quote back so far and wondered if people on here could give me an indication if it is in the right ball park or not.

8.4 kWp system using 21 panels on 1 roof
1 iBoost intelligent immersion system will be installed
11.2 kWh battery storage included

the panels will be one of Q-Cell, Jinko, Trina or Perlight and the rest would be Givenergy

all installed for  £11,186.

would this be a fair price ?

thanks in advance

Who's battery storage is it? Unless it's a make up of smaller multiple batteries, Givenergy don't do a 11.2kW battery?
    PV total 19.8 kW system:
23 x 420W East/West split over two flat roof areas at 10 degrees inclination.
13 x 390W South spit over two flat roof areas at 5 to 20 degrees inclination.
6 x 390W south wall mounted at 90 degrees inclination.
7 x 390W West wall mounted at 90 degrees inclination.
    2 x 5 kW hybrid inverters
    4 x 9.5 kWh batteries (38 kWh total)

its not detailed in the quote but like you say i presume its made up of multiple givenergy batteries
  • If you are still struggling for Quotes. I know some people who have used Infinity Energy in Bursledon and are very happy.
  • ... but the price looks very good in the current market

Does look a reasonable price. Interesting to know what inverter(s) they propose to go with 8.4kWp of panels.
    6.4kWp (16 * 400Wp REC Alpha) facing ESE + 5kW Huawei inverter + 10kWh Huawei battery. Buckinghamshire.

Looks like a good quote and hopefully it is a good inverter brand.
If you take away £3000 from your quote (battery and iBoost) it is coming to £1/KWp.  I paid £1.7/KWp installed due to the inverter type I had selected and the 4 roofs the system was going on.

If your consumption is high and you are getting 8.4KWp panels, your battery size seems small to me.  Maybe 2* 9.5KWh Givenergy battery or even 3?  This might give you the flexibility to have emergency backup power to essential circuits (excluding ASHP).

You will likely save on VAT 20% if you add additional battery at the same time rather than at a later date!

Thanks il ask what inverter(s) have been quoted for and get peoples opinions. is there much in which brand of panels is used from the what they have said they would use ( Q-Cell, Jinko, Trina or Perlight)?

Jinko Tiger panels have a 25 year product guarantee (and a 25 year performance guarantee). I believe the other have 10 or 15 year product guarantees. The Jinko also have lower annual degradation.

I believe Trina panels are tricky to fit bird mesh to.
