when someone asks on the group have they cut down on their driving the almost unanimous response is "why should i?"

Don’t forget those clauses in the Magna Carta, the 1689 bill of rights and probably the good Friday agreement as well, which guarantee the right to drive around as much as you like without paying for it

Round here the bungalow bourgeoisie are out mowing the verges up and down the road next to their houses, some of them 100 yards in each direction. Petrol is just too cheap.

What’s wrong with someone taking a pride in their neighbourhood and tidying it up? Seems like there’s not enough of this sort of public spirited activity.

Squandering  of irreplaceable resources? Unnecessary release of fumes to the atmosphere? Destroying wildlife? Financing Vladimir? Waste of money?

You’d be better employed picking up litter. Some disgusting pigs drive through here and buck their takeaway rubbish out on the road. To the diobhail with everyone else.

Lockdown inspired walking is still continuing to the extent that I don't have to cut the grass on the verge as footfall's limiting growth. Still having to pick up the fastfood packaging some people seem to enjoy chucking out their car window though

The last rubbish I picked up outside here was a mixture of Macdonalds and kfc wrappers- aye, both - and flyers for a gospel concert at aughnacloy free Presbyterian church. Odd link between Puritanism and impurities. Seems like a sin to me.

Are you a fast food and gospel music enthusiast? Guitars and Goujons on a Saturday night?
I’m at least 30 miles from aughnacloy here.

I’ve just picked up a pizza box from the same point. Anyone know any Paisleyites with a passion for pasta?
