Pension Tax refund delay

Hello all, I applied for a refund of tax paid on a small lump sum from a pension in November 2021, HMRC have told me today there is a massive backlog on refunds and could be some time before I receive mine. Just wondering if anyone else has had a long wait? It's less than £2000.

Hi, i'm new to this forum so not sure if there is a more up to date thread. I am also waiting on a tax refund from HMRC going back to November 2022, when I finally get through to the tax office (usually a wait of round 40mins) they tell me the refund has been approved and should be in my bank account within 10 working days, however I am still waiting 3 months later after further calls to tax office and keep getting told the same thing. Waiting until end of tax year isn't an option as adviser tells me it could be June at the earliest when money will be paid automatically into account. The money owed to me is a months pension so having it in my account will prevent me having to draw down further money.0

Do you mean a refund arising from a specific claim you have made using form P53 or P55?0
