You have to occupy the Band A to D property as your main residence on 1 April 2022. You can only claim on one property.

If you were to sell on 01 April 2022 then any interest for council tax purposes would cease on 31 March 2022.
I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.

You have expressed it more succinctly than I was trying to do, but gave up in the end.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

Given that you asked the question today (6th April 2022), you must know by now whether or not you sold the house on 1st April, yet the question is asked as only a possibility.
