What happens to my medical pension if I get divorced?

I retired early on medical grounds in 2021 and was awarded a full civil service pension.
Like so many people, my wife and I have been going through some hard times during the pandemic and I am not sure whether we are going to stay together. If we were to get divorced what would happen to my pension? Really hoping we can work things out, but my mind keeps going to the worst case scenario. My wifes only income is carers allowance.

If we were to get divorced what would happen to my pension? It would form part of the overall discussion and agreement you come to regarding the share of assets and any potential future income. it is not treated in isolation from other things.
I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.1 -
Assuming Civil Service rules are similar to the LGPS, you would have to obtain a Divorce CETV (cash value) to show as part of your assets. In the case of the LGPS, the conversion factors for an ill health enhanced pension are lower than the factors for a regular pension - but only by a little.

Generally pensions would just be considered along with all other assets. I don't know if any medical element of the CS pension would be excluded from that.
