Mixergy hot water tank alternatives

Hi

I believe that these cost about 2K or so however I'm not sure how long it'd take for this to pay off?

Not sure if it's worth it as such atm. Are there alternatives? It's a heat pump not water tank essentially

You have to consider how you heat your hot water in the context of how you heat the rooms in your house.

In terms of energy source? If so, that'd be gas

Heat pumps are less efficient at heating hot water than heating your house (because hot water needs a higher temperature).  So it is unlikely that the Mixergy system is cheaper to run than using a gas boiler to provide hot water (at current prices for gas and electricity).
