Tax Help/abit information

Hi all been awhile , not sure I asked this question couldn’t find it on my threads 

So With change of role and pay. And new tax year starting soon. 

I been thinking if my tax is wrong or if am being blagged ( which I doubt they would do hopefully)

So I been on this tax code few months 754L and was notified I was under paying tax ( My salary at that time was around 1600 ish a month 

They had put me on tax code 418L 

Which I believe I should have paid back any underpayment 

Now with my new job . Am going to be on lesser salary 19k ish a year 

I thought standard tax code was this 1257L

Last advisor I spoke to was a right tool, wasn’t even bothering to explain anything related to my tax and kept saying sorry I can’t currently help you . You need wait till the next tax year ( which is know finally coming up)

Do I wait till 5th April to see what changes come ?

No, you can look at your Personal Tax Account now on gov.uk and see what tax code is in place for the new tax year.

And if you think the code number is wrong you need to post the breakdown of how the code has been calculated for anyone to be able help.

Say the code 1000L then there could literally be millions of explanations as to why it's 1000L.

Apologies for late response. Thanks for the info.  It took few calls but I got it sorted . Hopefully stay right
