A simple message to get across is that, electricity consumption is roughly proportional to heat i.e.
"things that get hot, consume electricity."0 -
Perhaps everyone should be given an Energenie; it would soon pay for itself in reducing demand. The problem is if government procured them they would end up costing £100 each.paul991 said:yes but but what i am saying it should be made a lot easier for the general public .Northern Lincolnshire. 7.8 kWp system, (4.2 kw west facing panels , 3.6 kw east facing), Solis inverters, Solar IBoost water heater, Mitsubishi SRK35ZS-S and SRK20ZS-S Wall Mounted Inverter Heat Pumps, ex Nissan Leaf owner)3 -

We have a 3kw immersion I would like to add smart control to but don't think it is suitable for a standard plug socket controller as the current is to high?Magnitio said:JKenH said:

if you give them away they be used for a couple of weeks and disappear in the garage . a few years back every time i went to a property the tenants were trying to give me the cfl lamps the energy company's kept sending them . the the same thing happened with the cheap geo monitors.many sites had them still unboxed you only have to look on ebay. There is enough extras on our energy bills with out any more0

But by then they would have done their job. I spent just a couple of hours seeing what was costing money on standby. Now I know so don’t need to use them all the time.paul991 said:if you give them away they be used for a couple of weeks and disappear in the garage . a few years back every time i went to a property the tenants were trying to give me the cfl lamps the energy company's kept sending them . the the same thing happened with the cheap geo monitors.many sites had them still unboxed you only have to look on ebay. I suspect you are right. I was thinking something along the lines of the Pension Wise service for people to get free impartial advice on energy saving specific to their situation e.g. "Energy Wise".paul991 said:if you give them away they be used for a couple of weeks and disappear in the garage . a few years back every time i went to a property the tenants were trying to give me the cfl lamps the energy company's kept sending them . the the same thing happened with the cheap geo monitors.many sites had them still unboxed you only have to look on ebay.
