Second opinion on PV/Battery quote

Having nearly been sold on a £12.2k 4kw system with a 4.8kw battery from Project Solar, this forum helped me to identify that I was being ripped off.
We did get quotes for Solar Edge but decided not to splurge the extra £3k. Our only shading is late afternoon from trees 50 metres away. I’m told that as long as they’re over 10 metres away the effect isn’t drastic.

Thank you all ever so much for any insight. I’d be happy to answer any questions. This is on 2 roofs, one is South and slightly to the East. The other is East and slightly to the North.

Very similar to my setup, orientations and costs. I'm without the iBoost, but have Tigo optimisers and cloud. How do they propose to install the panels across the roof space, 5 & 5, 6 & 4, other?2 Separate arrays, 7 x JASolar 380w panels (2.66kWp) south facing, 4 x JASolar 380w panels (1.52kWp) east facing, 11 x Tigo optimizers & cloud, Growatt SPH5000, Growatt 6.5kWh Hybrid battery (Go-live 01/12/21) - Additional reporting via Solar Assistant.0

They proposed 5 and 5 so an equal split. Space is somewhat of an issue, they don’t believe any more will fit but are coming out to do a survey to confirm.0

Despite limited shading, I'd still look at Tigo TS4-O's and cloud, say TS4-O's are around £40 each plus cloud for £200'ish.
Added advantage is reporting, you can quickly see if you have a panel problem. The Growatt will be able to show if you have a problem with a string but not which panel(s). I'm sure somebody will be along shortly advising that you stay clear of Growattt and anything Chinese. Early days and I've not had a problem with the Growatt inverter or battery, the Growatt reporting is a bit pants though.2 Separate arrays, 7 x JASolar 380w panels (2.66kWp) south facing, 4 x JASolar 380w panels (1.52kWp) east facing, 11 x Tigo optimizers & cloud, Growatt SPH5000, Growatt 6.5kWh Hybrid battery (Go-live 01/12/21) - Additional reporting via Solar Assistant.1 -
Thank you. I shall definitely look into it.What does that replace within my setup? Would I no longer need the Growatt inverter if I had those Tigonoptimisers? Are there any downsides?0

You still need the inverter, the optimisers sit under the panels, try these vids:

I love the look of this. For £600 this seems like a no brainer? Depending how much fitting costs would add, if anything.Am I missing anything here?0

You can fit them to the panels that only get shading and not the ones that will not.
They fit on the underside of the panels and are wired in series with the next panels.1 -
Ok. As I mentioned I am not going to be prone to shading as being an issue. I also see this as an additional expense if the optimiser itself fails in future.Glad to hear my setup overall is sounding reasonable!
Thanks for all the thoughts so far.We may consider adding another battery at £1800 to take advantage of the vat saving at this stage rather than being stung for it by trying to retro fit later.0 -
