Suspended from work

Hi,
Last Wednesday, 23rd March I came into work, was shuffled upstairs and told I was being suspended pending an investigation due to an allegation made against me. I was told I would be contacted the next day regarding this and not to contact anyone at work.
The next day I received a letter via email saying I had been suspended due to allegations of grosse misconduct, inappropriate behaviour and misuse of company equipment.
Since then I have not been contacted at all to advise what is happening, offered any support or even told what the allegations are. I have rang them numerous times and when I have spoken to someone they said someone will be in contact soon. I have had messages from work colleagues saying there are rumours going around that I have been racist and threatening to kill someone. My mental health is suffering, I can’t sleep, eat and feel like I have been abandoned with no support. I can’t defend myself because I don’t even know what I am supposed to have done.
Does anyone have any advice please?

Probably talk to a lawyer or union if you have one. Might be worth recording how it is affecting you- use handwriting in a book where the pages can't be moved or replaced, date each entry and put them closely one after the other so you can't add stuff later. I can't remember the name of the method, but it's a way of writing notes that helps them to be used as evidence. Best of luck.Statement of Affairs (SOA) link: https://www.lemonfool.co.uk/financecalculators/soa.phpFor free, non-judgemental debt advice, try: Stepchange or National Debtline. Beware fee charging companies with similar names.0

Oh and don't talk to work colleagues about it, it will only fuel rumours.Statement of Affairs (SOA) link: https://www.lemonfool.co.uk/financecalculators/soa.phpFor free, non-judgemental debt advice, try: Stepchange or National Debtline. Beware fee charging companies with similar names.0

Have you made racist comments and threatened to kill anyone? You haven't said 'I didn't.'What I do not give, you must never take by force.

Does your workplace have an HR dept?
Did you get a copy of the disciplinary procedure with your suspension letter? If not, you need to get hold of it.
Talk to the union if you’re in one.
Theoretically, suspension is a neutral act while an investigation takes place. Never feels like that to the suspended person though.
If you are in touch with any colleagues don’t talk to them about work and what is happening. It won’t help. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.3 -
No, I have not made any racist comments or threatened to kill anyone. If I had I would accept what is happening but I've not actually said anything offensive to anyone0

That's good. Have you fallen out with a colleague lately? Comments and accusations like this rarely come out of the blue against an unsuspecting individual. Someone, somewhere believes you said these things. Can you recall anyone you have upset, however innocently of late? It helps to be prepared for the questions that you will eventually face. What I do not give, you must never take by force.

The racist and violence things are not true, that is just rumours as everyone knows I have been suspended. It is a big place so people are just gossiping0

Well, if they are rumours, then what could you have done, do you think, that would be classed as gross misconduct? Usually involves things like theft, wilful damage, bringing the organisation into disrepute or physical violence against a colleague. That sort of thing. Has the tension with the other shift lead been excessive? What I do not give, you must never take by force.
