laser hair removal instead of waxing

hello,
so to begin with, i am a male.
past few years i have been having waxing treatments, but i am now thinking of taking the plunge and going for laser hair removal.
the reason for this is because i don't like the pain of waxing (who does?), but also because i want to stop going for regular treatments at a salon.
also i guess it will be an investment where would save money in the long term compared to waxing.
i am just wondering if anyone else can relate to this, and how the results were for you.
thank you.

I've a couple of trans mates, both are happy with laser treatment results, but I've not asked any questions about whether it's better / long lasting / less painful on some areas than others.
It's not pain free and requires several visits, also results depends on natural hair colour.
