Neighbour's Roofer Access

Our neighbour, with whom we are not on good terms thanks to her accusation against us re boundaries and various other issues, has informed us that her roofer will require access for her roof work from our front garden. To do the work we know he has to do, he will need to stand on our roof. Are we within our rights to request that her roofer provides us with written details of the access he needs plus his contact details. We do not intend to deny access for her roofer even though she has done that to us but concerned that if her roofer does some damage we would not know who to bring a claim against. Our houses are terraced though ours is offset so that we lay back slightly from the front of her property.

You are within your rights to ask anybody for anything you like.
However, I believe they have a legal right to access your property for the purposes of maintenance - but would have to go to court for an order to enforce this (and prove there was no other practical and reasonable way of them doing it),
Therefore it would make far more sense for them to comply with any reasonable requests you make and have you grant them permission to do what they need to do.1 -
