Halifax Mortgage Application Timeline

Hi all, I’m wondering if anyone could give me their timelines for a mortgage application to offer with Halifax? We’re on week 2 now, I’ve heard they can be quite quick, but after waiting 6 weeks to hear back from Atom Bank and still hearing nothing, I’m hoping Halifax will come back to us sooner than that? Our broker just says it will come shortly, but not sure how long that means, valuation was completed last Tuesday and came back the same day as all fine.

We've been waiting a while too, the process started early June with our broker, got all the documents in on the 14th...we were meant to have our valuation last week but they decided they wanted to do an in person one...which was booked a week later! That was Friday and we are waiting to hear back. Apparently they are slower than they were but still quicker than some. Some people do get it approved quicker in less than a week...we are must more complicated as my partner is self employed and the need for the in person valuation. Hopefully will hear next week, week 3!

  • Hey we are hoping to get a mortgage through Halifax had the appointment/application went through on the 14th June its been a long wait - the estate agents have been pressing us for updates nearly every day.

Valuation went though quite quickly on the 23rd June.

I've found them quite slow with responding/ emailing or phoning ourselves  has anyone else experiencd similar? - I phoned up on the 27th to ask whereabouts our application was as the  tracker was still on  "in progress"  turns out they needed more paperwork (confirmation on two day sick leave) but noone had emailed or phoned. Sent that in. I've phoned back today and they needed more documents sending (marriage certificate).  I'm hoping by the end of the week we'll have an offer!

We submitted ours on the 14th, valuation was booked the next week but then cancelled as they decided to do a in person valuation last week. We got our offer on Friday, the broker forgot to tell us! We are using a broker but it has been slower for us than most...they wanted extra documents as my partner is self employed.

@Whestiewo how annoying! Our application took less than 2 weeks, we applied via a broker on the 16th and our offer was given on the 28th. Our broker was on the phone to them for hours chasing though. We are also pretty straight forward with our application, 2 full time incomes, no negative things on our file but we also had an in person valuation too so that slowed the timing down too
