how many emails do you get a day?
i must get close to 1000 if not more so today i have clicked on everyone so far and am unsubscribing to mailing lists and will se whether that has the desired effect, it is so annoying and time consuming that it must take me at least an hour each day just checking as don't want to miss a WEM

I certainly get hundreds a day, but every six months or so I do spend a few days unsubscribing from most of what turns up. You do get pretty quick at skimming down the list and deleting the ones which are obviously spam. Every so often I do search for 'Congrat' and 'Winner' and similar key words just in case, but very seldom have I found I've missed a WEM. The vast majority of winning emails are from a personal email rather than a company and do tend to stand out in the wording as different from the rest.1

I get a silly amount of emails daily.
I skim down them every day and also search for the main words, like 'Congrats' and 'Congratulations' etc. for any obvious wins.
If I see a lot of one newsletter, I search the sender and tick delete all. I don't unsubscribe all of the time as I like to reenter regular competitions on certain sites, so it doesn't look good to keep unsubscribing and subscribing again if it is part of the entry way. Plus you can sometimes get notified of new competitions from their website and it isn't always posted on these sites (I do try and post some that I see!)
I really should set up an automatic folder where the emails with the words I search for go in their automatically, save me searching.Thank you to everyone who posts competitions and good luck to everyone who enters.0 -
I used to have a rule that looked for "%" in the subject line and got computer to put in another folder.
Invariably the subject line said 10% or 20% of etc. and highly unlikely to be a wem
Anything with an emoji or some sort of picture in subject line is likely to be junk to my mind,
I don't know how to set up a rule for that using Thunderbirdthanks to all posters

I've changed my facebook username to NOBODY so when I enter FB comps I press the "Like" button it will say NOBODY likes this0 -
I have wondered about winning emails, are they noticeable. I guess you have all answered my question and i need to be checking my folder daily!0
