Have you looked for the next bigger home yet ?
How much extra will you need to move up ?
People often have the idea that they will move in 2/3 years time and end up staying 5/10 years.
Without string down and doing a full fact find about your family and future plans No one can say take a 2/3/5 year fix.
No guarantee that you can port a mortgage.

We have kept an eye on the market for quite a while.
We should have a decent chunk of equity in this house and would be in a position to go up to 350k as things stand.
We will be getting a valuation from a local agent next week too but we have a fair idea.
2/3 years ago we thought we'd move by now but COVID! Plus other unfortunate circumstances we won't go into here.

I am sure that every estate agents would love to look at your home and market it for you as they are so few homes on the market BUT I would check how much you can borrow first and know what your budget is !
Then look what's on the market.
So lots of buyers and few properties for sale

Thanks. Done the mortgage calculators, have a good idea already based on current circumstances. Aware of the market at the moment and I know it would sell, but there being so few on the market, that's one reason of several we're not looking to move now! Bit chicken and egg isn't it?
