Growatt or Solar edge

Have had my Growatt since 2016 have never had a problem I don't use the dongle to check figures etc but since install the output has stayed the same most years so assume everything is ok. That is what I look for in products something you get fitted and just leave to do its job never have to worry about it. I am looking at getting batteries and have had a couple of quotes and would not hesitate getting Growatt batteries etc.2

I recently DIY installed a Growatt inverter & this works well. I bought the monitoring at the same time and could not pass the registration screen legitimately due to an installer code being a required field for registration.
There's a handy tooltip on the UI to email an email address if this is your scenario.
Email sent 21st March, a response received 31st Mar asking which country I'm in, which I've responded to within a few minutes - maybe I'll get another response in 10 days.
It's all very well when stuff works, but if this is reflective of the standard support response, I'll definitely not be buying their brand in the future.

Well I think I'll go for Solaredge although can't really find any customer reviews for there new battery so that's a little bit of a leap of faith.8kw system spread over 6 roofs , surrounded by trees and in a valley.2

One thing on my quote I'm struggling with is the EPS bit, I'm not expecting whole house stuff but I can't find any mention of back up power on Solaredge inverters apart from the Storedge.
Does anyone on here have a Solaredge energy bank? They are a bit new so would be surprised.

An eps is usually part of a battery system, but other than tesla, I think it's super rare for them to actually be wired upWest central Scotland

My EPS was a big help in the aftermath of Storm Arwen; I was able to keep my router going and so retain internet connectivity when my phone line was down, to keep the lights on and to run the fridge and freezer part time. However if this forum is representative then an EPS capability like mine is not common.Reed0

It's not unusual to have an eps, but it is unusual to see them wired up.
We had a power cut a month or so ago, first in about 20 years, and although I had a plan of how I was going to use the eps in the lux, I hadn't actually wired it up, though I'd put the hard wiring in place.
So after about 10 mins we had the whole house powered, and in future it will be flicking a switch, so yeah eps is common, having it wired up is notWest central Scotland

i'm in the very very early stages using Givenergy AC coupled inverter(awaiting batteries).
My garage and home lighting have been wired to EPS/Backup power supply - the installer mentioned being limited to 16A max (probably peak power and limited by Inverter capacity).
I do know that Victron Multiplus 3000 and 5000 have the same features and these do switch very very quickly but their toroidal transformers, relay and contactors and are very very noisy. EPS is not a big deal for me and a socket or 2 would be ok its on the quote, I was just wondering how this would be done on the Solaredge inverter and energy bank . The previous SE system with the LG Chem battery seem to use the Storedge inverter but the energy bank can be connected to a standard SE inverter. I will quiz the surveyor but as there are new maybe they haven't put one in yet either.8kw system spread over 6 roofs , surrounded by trees and in a valley.0
