Pre-requests and Mortgage

Hi all!

I am hoping to begin applying for mortgages within the next year with my partner. At the moment I am currently renting with her and we pay bills to this address e.g. CT, internet water etc. . However all my bank accounts / credit cards are linked to my old home address (where I grew up with my parents). I've never felt the need to change the address for my finances as I've moved houses twice and it seemed silly to keep having to update my address when I see my parents often and they can pass me my post and bank statements.

My question is do you think this will seem strange to the bank and affect a mortgage application? I can always change the address on one of my bank accounts to where I am now or is it worth doing them all?

What d'yall think?

Thanks for any help/advice!

To me, it seems silly not to keep your bank etc updated with where you actually live, and to have to pick up mail from your parents. I would just update everything now to be on the safe side.
  • Yeah, thinking about it, it is quite silly, I'll change them all!

    Thanks!

    Its not uncommon.
It can be a problem with some lenders, but it is not usually a deal breaker. You should still have plenty of options at normal rates available.
