Electoral roll quandary whilst in between homes

We are in the process of selling our home and buying another property but there will be a period of approx 6 months between selling the current home and completing on the second.  In the interim, we plan to live in a static caravan on private land.  My question is with regards to our listing on the electoral roll for this interim period and the potential impact it would have when we come to applying for the mortgage on the property later in the year.

Would it be seen as a big problem if we weren't on the electoral roll for 6 months?

Would we be better registering at a relatives house in order to stay on the electoral roll?

Not sure if it helps any, but you can register at the caravan. You don't need to have a "proper" address to be on the electoral roll for the area - even the homeless can vote.
