Hello all my partner and I want to buy a house together but it's not plain sailing. My credit rating is good now after a hard slog following a difficult divorce and defaults.
My partner also divorced with a current mortgage but has a default from a credit card so showing on her credit file (she has an arrangement to repay) she hasn't missed any mortgage payments. What are the chances of getting a joint mortgage? with house prices the way they are now it doesn't give me a great choice on my own income only, we're both 53 so time is running out too.

You'll get your mortgage but your looking at the more specialised lenders with higher rates. Theres 6 years worth of history which can be seen on your credit file. Your starting point is a mortgage broker.
