Hi has anyone else had their medical records in the UK 'accidentally' deleted? What's your advice and do I need to get no win no fee layers involved ?
FYI sent emails and letters to the GP address , no reply

Why would you need a lawyer?

Have you used the practice formal complaints procedure in order to log your concerns and suggest what redress you are looking for.
Plus what information do you have on which records have been deleted? GP probably still have older paper records lurking around as do some hospitals.

Or is it the records have been deleted from the GP database and everything returned to central NHS as you're no longer registered with the GP due to moving address, outside the UK, not responded to letters etc?

I have no medical records before I was s 22 due to the GPs surgery burning down. This was just before computers were used and caused a lot of problems when I had an industrial accident because the other side refused to believe what had happened to my medical records when they tried to obtain them and actually summoned my GP to court to provide evidence.

Unfortunately records do go missing and sometimes it is many many years before that fact is discovered. I only realised when I asked & paid to view my records at the GP about 15 years ago.
I have no records before I was 21. We had to register with a doctor at college and after that..... records gone.
I have tried to trace them but with no luck- these were all 'paper' records.
One would hope that now they are all computerised that they were not so easy to mislay and that there would be a back-up copy.
