Snakes and Ladders - We're at the Bottom of the Biggest Snake, but there are Ladders all Around!

As the title suggests, in the Snakes and Ladders game of life, we are currently sitting at the bottom of the most giant snake on the board.
After a string of bad luck and life circumstances, like many people, our income has fallen significantly.
This has completely Kiboshed my efforts at becoming Mortgage Free earlier than planned. However, I am ever the Optimist and am determined that we may be down but we are not out.
Ladders are all around us, so I'm determined to climb back up!
