Marriage Allowance

I need to cancel this allowance for the year
2022/23 because I'm going to be in receipt of the state pension and will be liable to pay tax. I have a personal tax account via the Government Gateway. When I go to the
Marriage Allowance page there is the option to ‘stop marriage allowance claim’.
If I click on this does anyone know if the allowance will be stopped now i.e for this
year, 2021/22, or will there be an option to stop for next year 2022/23? Thank you.

That isn't actually a reason why you would have to cancel it as you would still be eligible.
But you personally could presablu pay less tax by doing so and if you cancel it now the change should only apply from the start of the 2022:23 tax year.
