Halifax mortgage extension.

Hey all!
So our mortgage offer with Halifax expires in just under 2 weeks and I am wondering what the likelihood is of being granted an extension? Our new build home has been delayed by 2 months so we are stuck.
Do Halifax have to complete a new application, for example: credit checks etc.
Any advice would be great
