Building on the boundary of 2 titles

We are in the process of buying a house which has a large side garden on a separate title.
We will not have a mortgage on either title.
The question that I have is can we build across the boundary between the two titles? I want to build a large double garage / workshop but the ideal place for me is right on the boundary?
Any info will be welcome.
Thanks in advance.
Dave.

Yes, of course. Not really anything to do with mortgages or endowments though! The house buying board is a better place for stuff like this.
There might be other things to consider, but if you're in the process of buying you can ask your solicitor.0 -
You can, but when you come to sell you might need to either have the boundaries redrawn or merge the 2 titles.
As user 1977 says, more of a question for the solicitor. They might even be able to just merge the title at the same time.
On another note, it might be asking how stamp duty would work as you would technically I assume own 2 properties...I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. No legal need to merge the titles, but it saves a bit of paperwork (and ensures nobody in the future overlooks that the bit at the bottom of the garden (or whatever) is on a separate title).0
