Good morning, it's a misty start here, but I think the sun will break through.
Not a lot to report here, I visited a friend yesterday with some sewing I'd done for her, refused coffee on the grounds that I wasn't staying. I was there for 2 hours!
It was so pleasant sitting in her conservatory in the sun, the morning just slipped away as we chatted.
Spent the afternoon tidying at home, and last night we were out at a performance of "Fame" by a youth theatre group - very good it was too.
Nothing much on today, just the usual stuff.
Thinking of the poorly people - Nelski's Mum. and NRA's dad, also anyone else who isn't well.
Take care folks.

Morning folks. Thanks for starting us off Scarlet.Today I'll be mostly making cauliflower cheese, roasting peppers and maybe making lentil soup. Most will be going in the freezer. If the sun comes out I'll get in the garden for a little while though it's still fairly cold here.I hope that all our poorlies are doing at least OK. Thoughts to Nelski, Poppy and NRA.Happy Saturday to everyone.14

Morning and thanks for the start Scarlet.
We were out with friends last night and didn't get home until 1.30am - I'm feeling a bid jaded.... Off to FC shortly and hoping for a loss despite being away and having limited control of my foodI will then be home prepping some veggie food for BIL's surprise party later.
Hope everyone has a lovely day and thinking of those struggling. Nels - hope Mum is comfortable.

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Another lovely day is forecast with 14/15 deg. And summer will be here from mid week with 18 deg. Wow I had better drag the garden seats out from the garage!
The fundraiser for Ukraine went off very well last night and it was hard to believe it had been put together in about a week! All the performances were faultless (and of course my DGDs were the best ha ha!!) Everything was by donation, entrance fee, refreshments etc and there were raffles, auctions and table top sales as well. Judging by all the money counting going on at the end everyone there had been more than generous for a very deserving cause.
Oh dear I got both my new rates bill and the much increased fuel payments yesterday. I think I see some belt tightening ahead.
Off for a quick sortie down into town this morning on the first bus. Just a couple of shops to go in and I will be back up on the next bus back. A job when I get back is tidying the freezers out, the phantom messer upper has been at it again. And what happened to the inventories I was determined to keep up to date!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and poorly loved ones. Thinking of NRA and NELS. Take care one and all and stay safe, them Covid figures are on the rise again. xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13 -

Good morning,
It was a beautiful day yesterday and looks like being the same again today🌞
I went out for lunch with family yesterday, it was lovely and seemed very normal.
Today I am going away for a weeks holiday with my sister. We've booked a cottage and will go on lots of walks, the weather sounds like it's going to be kind to us🚶♀️🚶♀️
I know I've packed too much but never know when to stop. I think I'm going to get some of the travel vacuum bags before our next trip
Hugs to all the sad, worried and poorly
Have as good a day as you can🌻13 -
Morning all
Not been on for a couple of days, we were just sitting down to eat on Thursday when I had a phone call to say that my second nephew had taken his own life on the train track outside of their house, my older nephew who has a learning difficulty tried to shop him as did members of the public but to no avail. We are in such shock its such a senseless loss, he has never got over my brothers death (his dad). He is at least out of pain now.
We did a massive shop yesterday and took it round to them so at least they dont have to think about that for a while, his mum is just distraught there is no other way to discribe it, she was screaming and howling, I dont think its something you will ever get over.
Sorry to bring the thread down xx
Nels hope your mum is doing ok xxx13 -
Just delurking to say how sorry I am to hear this. So soon after your brother’s death, this is awful for you all; heartfelt condolences. As you say, he is at peace.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.12

Morning all, yay the sun has got his hat on again, long may this last !
Well the builder finally arrived at 11am, think he must have taken the scenic route...... via Timbuctoo ! He dropped off some materials and a cement mixer, chatted to us for an hour and drove off, so no work will get done till Monday now 😠 I think I may have overdone the gardening yesterday, my body is objecting to a lot of any movement today as I decided to turned over a border and pull out all the weeds, I then planted my 3 new perennial plants which had been patiently waiting in their pots. I did a lot of tidying up leaves and twigs and noticed a lot of new plant shoots. I also gave a shrub a haircut and tied in the new honeysuckle, think spring is on it's way !
Today I have stripped the bed and put the bedding in the wm, I'll hang it out when it's done. It should dry well as did the washing yesterday plus there's a bit more of a breeze blowing. I shall remake the bed later, the upstairs cleaning will just have to wait as I'd like to sit out again this afternoon if the wind is not to harsh/I can find a sheltered spot. The cannelloni I made yesterday using lo wraps, was delicious and himself said it was better than the pasta tubes. We'll have an easy tea today, something and oven chips.
TA glad the fundraiser went well and well done to your DGD's.
Sunflow3r Enjoy your holiday.
Nels hugs, thinking of you
NRA hope your Dad is comfortable.
PS taff meant to say Mr Fix It would certainly have looked at your car and given his diagnosis, there's not many electrical or mechanical things he can't fix !
Take care all, hugs to anyone in need
