PPI tax refund

In June 2020 I claimed online for the tax I paid on my PPI claim. They asked for further information by post which I duly submitted and I thought that was the matter dealt with.
By September 2021 I had heard nothing back so I made a further online claim. It said that my case would be updated within 12 weeks so I waited. Again nothing at all.

I chased again in January when I was told that they could see the claims and I needed to wait for a call from a specialist team. Having heard nothing again, I chased again today and was told that they have a lot of post to deal with and to wait for the specialist team.
So nearly two years on and still not processed and no sense of ownership by them. Do I just leave it or is there any other way of chasing?

Although such a delay seems unreasonable your opening comment makes me wonder if you have unwittingly contributed to this.

PPI refunds aren't taxable and don't have tax deducted from them.

The statutory interest paid alongside them is taxable and does have tax deducted from it.

Can you confirm the figures you included in the the following boxes relating to taxed interest on the R40?

Gross interest

Tax deducted

Net interest
