Dentist is charging referal to hospital dental clinic - is this right?

Options
hello all,

The NHS dentist carried out a routine dental check up, and discovered one of the large back teeth needs to be removed. Because of the complexity of the removal, a referral was made to the local NHS hospital. The dentist has sent a bill for £41.00 for the extraction, is this right?
Trinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!

Yes , if they are referring to a tier two referral centre the dentist who makes the referral collects the charge for the extraction when they make the referral and the referral centre does not charge you for the extraction.

The charge is then deducted from the referring dentist by the BSA (business services agency)
