Cancelling one year contract at Nuffield

I think I agreed to a discounted price when I joined my local Nuffield in September in the expectation of using it for a full year. However I'm now thinking of leaving to go to a better gym. Does anyone know how it works when you cancel during a year's contract - do they expect to take all the remaining months payments in a lump sum, or do they just charge you some kind of cancellation fee that isn't as big (like an insurance policy might do?) Or do they totally refuse to cancel it and you have to keep paying and remember to go back and go through the cancellation process at a later date?
I know I need to check with the Nuffield, but I'm just trying to get a rough idea here.
