This must be the most informative answer I have seen on MSE!
I think I was thrown by the OP saying their state pension commenced in April and yet they had received their new code mid March. They had in fact received their first payment in mid March.
My PTA also shows my April company pension payment due at the end of April. I guess it is too late to change the income tax deduction on that. Therefore the earliest tax deduction for my SP will be May.0 -
