Barclays AIP

I have received an AIP from Barclays after being declined by a few other lenders, is this a good sign or do Barclays just give these out without really looking at credit files?

Well they wouldn't give me one so they are at least a little bit fussy.  Why do you suspect they didn't look into your records?  If you bank with them they wouldn't need to particularly.

  • If you are being declined by other lenders you should probably use a broker as an AIP is no guarantee you will get that mortgage or even that you meet their criteria.
  • I will certainly be using a broker when the time comes. I was just wondering if the AIP was a positive sign or is the Barclays AIP just not as thorough basically.
