MSE News: Tesco no longer cheapest for sanitary pads after it DOUBLES price

The price of the cheapest sanitary pads sold by major retailers and supermarkets - a 10-pack of Tesco Essentials maxi towels - has almost doubled since last year, MoneySavingExpert.com can reveal. The hike is a blow to those trying to keep costs down as the cost of living soars but there are still ways you can save.

Also on this subject and staying with Tesco - has anyone else noticed that what has been the "standard" 2 for £2 deal on Bodyform towels  has now changed to 3 for £3.20? It's only a small change, but again, significant over time.

On tampons - the best - and coincidentally cheapest - I've found are Aldi own brand at 69p a box of 20. They do tend to come in and out of stock randomly though so worth stocking up on your size a few boxes at a time when they're available.

  • Please please please can we stop calling tampons and towels "Sanitary Products"!  They are period products and a woman having a period is not unhygienic or unsanitary.  It only enforces the negative narratives around periods.

I bought these when I did a shop to send to Poland to help the displaced Ukrainians.

Incidentally and slightly related to the other comment, I noticed tampons/towels were missing from a lot of the initial lists of what to send over. Like women will stop having periods as it's just not convenient
