I'm fairly certain that when I looked into E.on PV it said something about licenced credit brokers. I suppose it means you would be covered by the consumer credit act? It would, presumably, hinge on a credit check, too.

@Exiled_tike well it's more about spreading the cost than one big outlay that's all. Good point on the 'hold'.

"E.ON Energy Installation Services Limited is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority in relation to credit broking services under number 750410 on the Financial Services Register." And yes credit check required, won't be an issue.
@Petriix - it seems to be about right for that size. 4KwH plus inverter without a battery is around 5-6k.
