Personal allowance query, do you need to this annually

My wife and I both retired in April 2019. As recommended by Martin I transfered my personal allowance to my wife as she set up to receive a monthly NHS pension where as i had built a "slush fund" which I am still using as my monthly income.
My question is as I had transfered my personal allowance in 2019 am I supposed to do it each year? Or is it the case once I had transferred the allowance in 2019 she will receive the benefit of my personal allowance until I apply to transfer back?

Your Personal Allowance will transfer automatically to your partner every year until you cancel Marriage Allowance.

Do you realise that claiming the Marriage Allowance will only use 10% of your annual Personal Allowance? So if you don't have any other taxable income, you are essentially wasting the other 90%. You should consider taking enough money out of your pension each year to fully use the Personal Allowance, even if you don't actually need the money at this moment. You can always just pay it straight into an ISA of you want.0
