The age of the person providing the gift is irrelevant. Although I suppose if in her 80s, there could be concerns about what happens if she passes or needs to go into care.
For Bluestone they usually need a gifted deposit form, ID and bank statements for the person providing the gift.
If they want more than this, it could be down to the solicitors or there is something else that has cropped up as an issue, money from abroad for example.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Is that Bluestone or the solicitors?
Usually if it is Bluestone requirement, we (as the broker) would get involved. I dont recall ever having to do that. But it makes sense it is needed.
I suspect it is the solicitor doing on their behalf and Bluestones.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. people when they get a mortgage offer off bluestone it’s subject to them two documents when it’s a gifted deposit and to be done by a solicitor , I have never heard of them before so just wanted to know if it’s a normal process for gifted with bluestone so I can prepare but maybe it’s not Thankyou though for responding0
