Monitoring house energy

Hi all I know a few of us have some sort of solar monitoring and battery monitoring and even EV charger monitoring as well as IHDs for smart meters.
But I'm wondering if anyone has went a step further and opted for a home assistant or similar type setup?
I seen this screenshot a few days ago and it got my head spinning

I like the idea of being able to see everything in one screen.
And adding things like thermal store water temperature and home battery level and maybe having a tablet display in the living room would make (married) life a bit easier.
Has anyone else done this and or have pointers?
I know I'm going to have to get comfortable with python.... or pay someone who is.

I use home assistant, it's quite in depth but you can often find what you're after by googling.
I'm waiting for the hildebrand IHD that gives mqtt feeds so I can get an accurate idea of how much energy is being exported vs waiting until the next day and checking my octopus account.
For now I do things like set the washing machine off and turn it off at the smart plug, then I have an automation that turns that plug on when there is enough generation and the washer continues where it left off.4.29kWp Solar system, 45/55 South/West split in cloudy rainy Cumbria.1 -
I've just installed Home Assistant on an old Windows 10 laptop, really easy to do. Install VirtualBox, install Home Assistant add the Growatt add-in, and it started reporting data.
Now to configure the dashboard and triggers that I will want.2 Separate arrays, 7 x JASolar 380w panels (2.66kWp) south facing, 4 x JASolar 380w panels (1.52kWp) east facing, 11 x Tigo optimizers & cloud, Growatt SPH5000, Growatt 6.5kWh Hybrid battery (Go-live 01/12/21) - Additional reporting via Solar Assistant.0 -
I looked at home assist, and decided i didnt really want it yet. Once i get an EV i might look at it againI went for a simple PI kit, that allows me to view Solar generation, and i just ordered hildebrand IHD, they are now finally back in stock. So that will give me my export real time, as well as gas usage, once i code the feed. The only thing i am missing, is the ability to view iboost usage in same screen, looking for a cheap CT wireless sorlution for that.

You could use a Shelly EM and put a CT clamp on the solar live and the incoming live then use some maths to figure out what's being exported, because the Shelly is wired into the mains, it can figure out which way current is flowing through the clamps as it will be out of phase with the incoming power I believe.4.29kWp Solar system, 45/55 South/West split in cloudy rainy Cumbria.0
