in Cutting tax
From April my new council tax bill for 12 months will be £1,529.43 I am in council tax band A.
My concern is the £150 Government rebate has not been applied.
Does anybody know when Nottingham city council will add this to our bills?

It doesn't come off the council tax bill. You should receive the £150 into your bank account separately, probably in April, if you pay the council tax by direct debit. If you do not, they will contact you about payment.1

For what it is worth. I've just received my Council Tax bill from Falkirk Council and they have deducted £150 from the total payable and then calculated my monthly payments based on the resulting figure, which is paid by direct debit. I don't know if Scotland is treating this differently, but if England is the same it doesn't look like there will be a payment into your account.0

My council tax bill (England) mentions the rebate, and encloses a leaflet about it from HMRC that explains eligibility and the likely method of payment (direct credit for those paying by direct debit, communication from the council asking for payment details in other cases).thornegareth said:For what it is worth. Falkirk's approach defeats the object of a credit fully paid in April at the start of the increased standard tariff. They should deduct it from the first (and second if the first is under £150) instalment.0 -
The UK government payment does not apply to Scotland- a devolved issue.
The Scottish Government have agreed to a similar payment but local authorities have been given the choice of deducting it from the council tax bill or paying direct to the household.
