How to "use" the solar panels on my house?

Thanks again - will get in-touch with EON now but I suspect it was never done - looking at more emails between us and the housebuilder, it was around that time they identified the panels not being installed properly.
I have the meter serial but will need to grab a reading once home.
As for export - I did happen to go into the menu once with the SMETS 1 (I think) and definitely have seen it with the SMETS2 but never entered the amount it anywhere. I do remember there being a number more than 0! - will grab this once home and update here.

Yes. I didn't spot that typo. Thanks.

I calculated it around 1-2 "fillups" a month which is why I said effectively the panels could pay for the car given I am covering around 4-5k a year with the remainder being topped up at work.
Had a chat with EON and as expected, they have no signs of it ever being registered.
Further confirmation is : " can see this address isn't registered in the national database for solar panels." so I suspect they checked the database you mentioned earlier.
I do have contact details from them to contact to have it registered:
You need to contact our specialist team on segenquiries@eonenergy.com or call them on 0345 301 4884
Is this the next step ? I assume I can't go with Octopus for the FIT part as they only have one Beta plan and say you can't be on the Go tariff if I go for the PV plan.
And of course, is it even possible to have Solars with one provider and Elec with another?0 -
I get my FIT payments from Shell and my gas and leccy from EON.0

And of course, is it even possible to have Solars with one provider and Elec with another? My electricity is witth Octopus and my FIT is with E.ON Next.Octopus have three different SEG export tariffs (see full details here):- Outgoing Agile, where the rate varies but has been over 10p/kWh in daylight hours for months now and is often over 15p, sometimes over 20p and very rarely over £1.
- Outgoing Fixed, where the rate is now 7.5p.
- Their regular SEG rate of 4.1p/kWh. This is available to Go customers or to non-customers.
4.1p/kWh isn't a great SEG rate, but it's better than some. You'll nedd to decide for yourself whether Go plus 4.1p/kWh SEG is better than Flexible Octopus and a higher SEG. Just an update to some of the questions...
I have been trying to ring EON but never get through. I have 3 different email addresses so sent one CCing them all including the hi@eonnext or whatever it is...still nothing.
I have looked at the main smart meter properly today which is a edmi es-10b
It does seem to be logging an EXPRT value which is sitting at 00046 kWh at the moment - I'm going to assume this is from the Panels?
So the question is, where this is going ... we're with British Gas at the moment so are they taking it?

So the question is, where this is going ... we're with British Gas at the moment so are they taking it?It just goes into the whole mix of electricty in the grid. Who pays you for it depends on who you have your FiT or SEG contract with. The FiT/SEG contract doesn't necessarily have to be with you "incoming" supplier.

Maybe not - they literally just emailed!
So it seems either I didn't send or I did and they are ignoring it - Unfortunately we used a join email address back then and while inbox emails were transferred over, I never bothered with sent so it is a case of he says she says.As it appears that you are only now providing the MCS Certificate, it is too late to apply for the FIT Scheme, this information should have been provided to us promptly when it was asked for in 2018.
We would suggest that you apply for the SEG Scheme, EON Energy are no longer taking SEG Applications: Please apply EON NEXT by email: SEG@eonnext.com EON SEG Tel: 0808 501 5218
The rate with our Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) scheme is simply 5.5p per KWH for any installations carried out by E.ON Energy's Solar team after 1st January 2020 or 3p per KWH for any external company used.
Given this is not a EON installation - what would be the next step?
Thanks again all0 -
Try Octopus for a SEG contract.
