Borrowing more on Halifax mortgage

Hi!
I am hoping to borrow more money on my mortgage for a kitchen refurbishment. We have 14 years left on our mortgage and only owe around £86k on a house that is worth around £170k or possibly more.
I am hoping someone has some experience applying to borrow more online with Halifax. What is the process? Is it similar to a normal mortgage application? Do they visit the house to value it?

It is quite similar to a full application as there will be a check on your credit file and you will need to prove your income.

They will not visit the house to value it as they will have an indexed valuation on their system which they can work from.

Once you have together all the information required they can typically offer in a few days and once you approve the offer they pay the cash into your bank account.

There are two ways to arrange a further advance:

Direct with the Lender = aggravation

Via a good Broker = no aggravation
