Switch bank account deals

Martin is always saying you can use the various banking deals to gain extra money by using the Switch services, usually an incentive of around £100 to switch.  Over the years I have basically 'used up' all these deals.  I have switched to / from all the major banks.  My question is - if I close a bank account and cut off all correspondence with them, how long before I can re-open / switch / claim one of their deals again? With GDPR, don't they have to destroy any information they have on you?  I'm guessing each bank will differ, but there must be a general time.

I think most banks usually put a certain timeframe on it, so it would be a case of reading the t’s and c’s.

For example the Halifax offer terms say:

“You also can’t have received a switch bonus from Halifax since April 2020”

I'm the same as you OP, I've used each and every bank deal and I'm now locked out for a few years until I can do it again.

One thing I have started doing is signing up to these so called App banks , they don't have such generous switching deals since you don't actually switch another bank account to them but they offer £50 to sign up and another £50 if you recommend a friend to do likewise....its less hassle but its free money.

I just opened a Monese app bank account, you have to pay the delivery of £4.95 for your debit card but once you've made a transaction with that card (can be for a £1) they give you £30 and then another £20 once you've spent £500.
You need a friends sign up code to get this deal. But once you're in they give you 15 sign up codes so in theory you can share your code with 15 friends and your up a tidy sum.

Money for nothing in my book.

Is there any others you can recommend? I signed up to Chip recently in a Vodafone VeryMe ‘get £30’ deal, then two friends each got £20 for using my link and I got £20 from each too (it’s now down to £10) so made £70. I’m looking for a new saving app though.

are there any bank accounts where you can switch, and you dont need direct ebits?

Monza sometimes offers an incentive great app/ card actually. Just looked on mine and only £5 ATM but goes up. There is another card similar can't recall name.
